029

Finished the day with a walk on the beach. Unfortunately, it started raining just after this, and we got rained on the mile and half or so back to the house.

028

comedy shot.

027

Disappearing Tea Cup at our favorite Chinese Restaurant, Full Moon.

026

I did so much homework, C had to take a picture of me working.

025

Bettie is always on the computer.

024

New book case coutesy of Ikea. It took less time to assemble than the conversation with my mother that was happening at the same time.

023

Hiding at Ikea.

021

The storm that has been assaulting California for the last week has lent itself to some heavy seas. I am glad I am not out in it, but it was rather spectacular to watch.

019

Heavy editing job on a fun, if not blurry, picture of Bettie.

018

Prosciutto Egg Cups. Thin strips of prosciutto layered in a muffin tin, a spoon full of pesto, a small chunk of cheese (fontina is best, this time I used gouda). crack an egg into it, and bake at 375 until whites are done and yolks are still runny. Tastes great, looks seriously spiffy. Gotten from the Waldorf=Astoria Cookbook.

Bettie.

016

More house projects. We are building a bookcase that I will post about later. Here is Cara staining the back piece of it.

015

Took a tour of Hermann Hall (AKA the former Hotel Del Monte) with Cara's coworker/NPS historian. One of the great bit of historic architecture on the west coast, and amazingly owned by the Navy.

014

Taken from my front yard of a Porsche 911... driving past that is.

Also a bonus shot. It's throwback picture week on facebook, so I scanned an old baby picture that my mother gave to Cara. I laughed a bunch as I was messing with it on photoshop, and every time Cara would look over, she would crack up.

013

It took 2 weeks, but here is a pic of my car. probably the first of many. Many.

012

My cheesy recording studio set up at my couch. Audacity recording program, microphone from Rockband (usb hookup to the computer), my djembe as a mic stand, recording my guitar. It works, but I am still figuring out how the whole mixing process works.

011

Dammit... first day missed. And not for lack of a picture either. I took quite a few just and got distracted on homework (and BBC's Top Gear) and forgot to put it up.

3 out of 4. Damn you Cards. I feel bad posting essentially the same picture 2 consecutive days, but I didn't do anything today other than watching football. I was in my PJs until after 5pm.

009

My playoff bracket. 2/2 so far, Cara is down 1.

Diet food doesn't have to suck. Here is a fillet mignon topped with a beer reduction and crimini mushrooms, oven fries, and sauteed spinach and garlic. All of this coupled with a nice Chilean table wine. Dieting doesn't actually suck.

007

Sitting in front of my computer all day, so I decided that that would be the theme of today's shot.

(although in retrospect, given the day number, maybe it should have been a dry vodka martini, shaken not stirred.)

006

As I said, much less interesting stuff after the trip. Back to mundane daily life. On a plus side, the grocery store had cherries for rather cheap. Cherries are one of my single favorite food items, and I am always thrilled to pick up a bunch, and while I am also not much a fan of still life shots, this one turned out pretty nice.

005

As a parting shot for the trip to SF that has encompassed the first few days of the year, I took one of those must take shots while there.

003

Union Square taken from the Cheesecake Factory atop the Macy's. This is a panorama where I put together 13 photos, each taken at 18mm. After cropping, and before resizing, the final picture was 67 Megapixels. Every so often you have to do a touristy thing, so we had a piece of cheesecake up there with a stunning view of the square. Silly, but worth it.

Swan Oyster Depot, San Francisco. Had a dozen raw, and some clam chowder.
